NRSP: Not Really Serious People

A quick Google News search reveals that the triumphant introduction Thursday of a new astroturf group, the National Resources Stewardship Project, produced exactly zero news stories. I couldn't even find a hit on Canada Free Press.

Someone should explain to NRSP PR honcho Tom Harris that if you're looking for media attention, you shouldn't choose a front man (Tim Ball) who has no credibility and who has made himself a national pariah by suing the biggest news conglomerate in the country (Canwest Global through the Calgary Herald) for an imaginary libel.

DeSmogBlog at the DC Green Festival

The DeSmogBlog team (that would be Kevin Grandia and Sarah Pullman, in this particular case) have arrived on the scene in Washington DC for the weekend. We'll be hanging out at the Green Festival at our booth, handing out stickers and maybe even tshirts, and generally eager to talk to people about the site.

Tim Ball vs Dan Johnson Lawsuit - Documents

On Sept. 1, Dr. Timothy F. Ball, a former Geography Professor at the University of Winnipeg and the current Chair of the Natural Resources Stewardship Project, launched a libel suit against Dr. Dan Johnson, a current Professor of Environmental Science at the University of Lethbridge and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Grassland Ecosystems.

Attached are Dr. Ball’s original Statement of Claim and Dr. Johnson’s Statement of Defence, filed on October 13, 2006.
