NASA Makes Veiled Attempt to Silence Climate Comment

The New York Times is reporting that,

The top climate scientist at NASA says the Bush administration has tried to stop him from speaking out since he gave a lecture last month calling for prompt reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases linked to global warming."

NASA started monitoring James Hansen's calendar after he spoke out recently, but claimed the intervention was innocent. "This is not about any individual or any issue like global warming," said Dean Acosta, deputy assistant administrator for public affairs at the space agency. "It's about coordination."

Ah yes. It's Bush administration policy to "coordinate" its climate policy with the actioins of ExxonMobile, et al. Nice that someone is paying attention - and kudos to Hansen for standing up.
